Graffiti Control
New Construction - Marble
Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI® keeps the art on the inside
In 1997 the Fundación La Caixa, a cultural foundation in Barcelona, Spain, decided to create a cultural center in a historically-signifcant early 20th century former textile factory.
During the extensive renovations the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki designed a new main entrance and public reception area of light-colored limestone. This extensive area of white stone would undoubtedly attract the graffiti „artists“ that plague Barcelona, so a graffiti-control system was necessary. But it was particularly important to not to alter the original appearance of the stone.
That’s why Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI® was the right choice. In contrast to other permanent graffiti-control systems which can leave the treated surface looking shiny and „coated“, Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI® is practically invisible, but with outstanding performance. Graffiti can be removed again and again, without reapplication. And because Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI® is not a coating but a penetrating treatment, water vapor can diffuse and the stone remains breathable.
With Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI® the CaixaForum will show artwork only on the inside.
