Highway traffic noise is a nuisance in many areas and the only solution in most cases is a sound barrier, like this one made from split-face concrete block along the Padden Expressway in a residential area of Vancouver, Washington (U.S.A.). But sound barriers are also perfect targets for „taggers“ who have easy access from the highway. Graffiti control is a necessity but the total area that must be protected is huge – in the case of the Padden Expressway over 20 000 m².

For such a big project, labor costs are a major factor. A sacrificial system such as wax requires reapplication after every cleaning. A non-sacrificial 2K-PU system requires significant crew waiting times between coats during application and over the years UV-radiation from the sun can degrade the polymer, reducing its efficacy.

Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI^® saves labor costs. It is non-sacrificial, no reapplication is required after cleaning. But its fast drying time, depending on weather conditions from just 10 to 60 minutes, allows for more efficient application. Protectosil ANTIGRAFFITI^® is also unaffected by UV-radiation and weathering, meaning no loss of efficacy over time.
